"It's Gone to their Heads"

Hats which belonged to Molly Clark and Bette Rye, both pioneering women in Central Australia: Molly a pastoralist and tourism operator, Bette a creative woman whose spectacular pottery was inspired by the landscape around her; Hatpins donated by Patsy Hayes, Betty Thompson and the National Trust NT; Hat boxes, donated by Molly Clark and the National Trust.

Our wish is that you enjoy the glimpse these objects give you into the adventurous lives of outback women. Just imagine Molly packing her suitcase at Old Andado Station, on the edge of the Simpson Desert, and carefully tucking into the case her white netting hat (made in Switzerland) to wear on board a cruise ship bound for Antarctica.

Take advantage of this rare opportunity to see these gorgeous items on display.
